Interested in Presenting a Northwest Foodservice Show Seminar?
Applications are now being accepted for speakers interested in presenting a seminar, panel discussion, or other presentation at the 2011 Northwest Foodservice Show. Applications must be received no later than November 15, 2010.
The theme for the 2011 show is Raising the Bar. This theme has a dual connotation, addressing the beer, wine and distilled spirits segments of licensed establishments, as well as the general push for improved quality across all aspects of an attendee’s operations.
While it is not required for a seminar to tie in to the Raising the Bar theme, those that do tie in to the theme will receive special consideration. This should not however discourage other applicants from presenting on other topics of interest to the restaurant and foodservice industry. We are looking for at least half of the scheduled seminars to directly tie in to the Raising the Bar theme.
Some basic guidelines for seminar presentations are as follows:
- Seminars should be approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour in length - no more.
- Seminars should address an issue or topic that the speaker is uniquely qualified to discuss without it becoming a direct sales pitch for any one particular company. (The intent is education, not an infomercial).
- Visual collateral such as PowerPoint slides and / or handouts that attendees will leave the seminar with are highly encouraged. Inclusion of these materials with a submitted prospectus is also highly encouraged and will afford that particular application with higher consideration.
